The amount of shredders running in the area of biowaste has increased by two more machines.

Four bomatic shredding machines type B400 are working since four weeks in one of the biggest shopping malls of the world in Kuwait. The machines are designed for shredding of plastic and metal boxes, which are not needed for the transport of the goods anymore.

After successful start up of the machines we were able to sign a contract; bomatic has a dealer in Kuwait now!

This trip was a trip in the world we only know from the ferrytales from 1001 nights. The skylines was fantastic and we enjoyed discovering a country we did not know before. Working at a temperature of 25°C was quite easy, however it was not possible to bring the spring to Hamburg, we regret.

A new machine type of our vertical shredder is available. On the exhibition TerraTec bomatic showed the first time the little brother (or the little sister?) of the vertical shredder R1200. The machine typ R750 is driven by 30 kW or 45 kW, the rotor turns with 1.200 rpm. "The market asked for a machine with a throughput capacity of about 3 t/h" explains Andreas Kröger, developer of the machine. "With the small electric motor and the compact design the machine is ideal for preparing the material for feeding into the biogas plant". The bomatic team was extremly happy about the high amount of visitors at the bomatic stand and about the positive feedback.

Another granulator type Unicrex U2100 was installed in January in Denmark in order to granulate pre-cut electronic waste into 12 mm granulate. "This fine granulate size is necessary to receive a high selectivity" explains Mr. Lüdemann, managing director of bomatic GmbH. The material will be sorted highly in a following separation plant, therefore a high break-down of the material is necessary. This was tested in bomatic technical laboraty with different sieve diameters before in order to present the customer an optimal result.Some technical data of the Unicrex U2100: drive 250 kW, length of cutter module 2.100 mm, shaft diameter 800 mm, sieve diameter 12 mm.

One of the largest department stores in the world is going to shred it's bigger packaging with B 400 Shredders from bomatic. At the end of November Joachim Lüdemann, bomatic's managing director, delivered four shredders from the light-duty series B 400 to Sales Manager Osama Hijjawi from Kuwait, who travelled to Ellerau for this purpose especially. The four rotor shears will be used for shredding boxes and containers. The B 400 Shredders belong to the light-duty series of rotor shears from bomatic. They are particularly suitable for the crushing of waste and packaging from gastronomy, distributive trades, hospitals and processing and manufacturing trade. With its 5,5 kW-motor capacity and a 400 x 500 mm charge opening such a shredder copes for instance with 200 kg plastic containers or 600 kg metal containers per hour. A manual resqueezing device ensures, that the shredding material is feeded constantly to the cutter. - In conjunction with this business bomatic now has an authorized dealer in Kuwait.

An exceptional field of application features a just delivered rotary shear of the DS4-type: This shredder is designated to crush empty bullet casings. For this purpose the cutting unit of the shredder was equipped with special 12mm-cutters - just as the customer required. These cutters have short cracking hooks, ideal for this particular application. The rotary shear is equipped with a 15 kilowatt motor and a very robust gear unit that allows even ambitious cracking tasks. With this configuration the device is capable of cracking approximately 500 kilogram bullet casings per hour. "With this machine again we had the opportunity to show, how versatile our products are", says Joachim Lüdemann, Managing Director of bomatic. "At any time we are able to built even very extraordinary configurations for special applications - and realize a lot of customers demands."

Since the end of June medical bags with physiologic salt solution and other filled plastic bottles are shredded with a bomatic rotor shear B850VD. What is special about this machine is that the spill is separated with a custom-built dewatering auger through a perforated strainer, the solid fraction is transported to a press container for compacting. "The high amount of liquid meant a challenge for us", explains Marion Böttcher, technical director at bomatic. Per hour incur at least up to 8 tons of liquid, that goes through the cutting unit. The bomatic-experts met the challenge by using a sealed cutting unit with external spherical roller bearings. Radial shaft sealing rings and labyrinth seals protect the mounting, liquids are prevented to get in the machine's core.

It comes to late for an Olympic gold-medal, but it stands for bomatic first class performance: In Sheffield, located in beautiful Yorkshire, a new granulator Unicrex U1700 is being currently installed. Its mission: Granulating of turnings and millings to a size of 20mm. This task demands specialised requirements from the device that is equipped with 48 rotor blades and 4 stator blades. All blades can be used in four different ways. A high-capacity 160 kW-motor, the hydraulically opening cutting unit with the quick blade and screen change system as well as the innovative bomatic-maintenance drive for frictionless maintenance provide for the special requirements and for unfailing record-breaking results.

Material like video recorders or DVD-players are filled into the machine and are being crushed into big pieces. Dust is being removed by a suction plant. Additionally a explosion detection system is installed at the hopper of the machine. In case of an explosion, the explosion will be not start!

Throughput capacity of the plant: about 9 t/h!

Wir starteten den Tag bei bomatic um 8:00 morgens. Als erstes durften wir in der Montagehalle zu gucken und mit helfen. Bei bomatic werden Shredder von zwei Mitarbeitern im Büro entwickelt und später in der Halle zusammen gebaut. Es hat uns Spaß gemacht bei der Produktion eines Shredders anpacken zu dürfen.
