The shredder of the month february is our 4-shaft-shredder type bomatic 4WV, which is being used for shredding of hard discs and other data mediums at the company MAMMUT Dokumentenservice GmbH & Co. KG in Ahrensburg successfully. By using 4-shaft technology it is possible to build in a screen under the slow running cutter shafts and obtaining a defined particle size. The machine is built in a very strong version, in order to shred the quite stabile hard discs. This stability convinced in the end the customer to purchase the machine.

Some technical details: The machine is driven by 22 kW electric drive, cutter module opening is 590 x 575 mm. Build in a maintenance friendly version as the cutter shafts are changeable completely in one piece. The cutter shafts themselves are equipped with single, involute toothed cutters with cutter width of 18 mm. Under the cutter shafts is placed a screen with 20 mm holes, which is possible to swivel downwards for maintenance reason.

With this machine the bomatic delivery program is complete now: Beginning with the small single-shaft shredder Monocrex, the two-shaft shredder bomatic, the 4-shaft shredder 4WV, Granulator Unicrex up to the Vertical shredder Rotacrex; surely we have the right shredder for your need in our delivery program!

The year 2016 started for our electrician with a trip to Hungary, in order to start up another 2-shaft shredder type bomatic B1600. The machine is being used for shredding of ropes, the input material is being cut by our slow running rotor shear and prepared for the following cutting steps optimally.

The type bomatic B1600 is a 2-shaft shredder, cutter module opening 1.600 x 1.100 mm, driven by 2x75 kW electric drives. “The two-shaft shredder is optimal for cutting the heavy ropes” explains Mr. Lüdemann, managing director of the bomatic GmbH “With the high torque and not having a limiting screen under the shafts our machines are able to cut the heavy ropes very good and also the wearing costs could be calculated”, so Mr. Lüdemann explains further. “It is possible to change the cutter shafts completely and the cutters could be welded again. This saves maintenance time and reduce the wearing cost.”

After some hard working years we left the exhibition Agritechnica 2015 in Hannover with the result “our Vertical shredder Rotacrex has been arrived in the area of biogas plants”. The first machines have been running since 2 years, we are able to define wearing costs and the customers are very satisfied with the machines. “We are very flexible with the input material” is the opinion of one satisfied customer. One machine will be delivered shortly within this year, three other machine follow beginning 2016. Special thanks to the company PlanET Biogas, we enjoyed the exhibition with you and we look forward to further successful cooperation.

The color stands for the input material. Bomatic GmbH was lucky to get the order to deliver two Vertical shredders type Rotacrex R1200 for shredding of the content of “the brown drum”. In Germany the brown or green drums contain organic waste from the households. The special task in this project was, that plastics or films, which may be are in the input material, should stay as large as possible, the organic content should be cut as small as possible. Therefore the working principle of our vertical shredder fits perfect, as through the impact effect the films won’t be cut, they stay mostly same size, and the organic will be mashed.

bomatic shredder for oil drums

Destination is a paper production company, where our two shaft shredder type bomatic B1600 will shred ropes or raggers in future. This “ropes” or “raggers” are produced during paper recycling. It consists of bale wire, which is continually pulled through a “pulper” to remove contaminants from the paper like metals and plastics.
Shredding of ropes is one of the hardest tasks for a two shaft shredder, as they contain a lot of metal. Bomatic has been delivering several machines for shredding of this kind of ropes. The machines are equipped with special knives and with high tech frequency converters the machines are reaching powerful and high throughput capacities.

All machines get a test run before shipment at bomatic site. Even if, as it was in this case, only cutter modules are in scope of supply, the machines will be built up completely and tested. The described machines are used for shredding of complete filled files and the material will be shred in two steps. The cutters, which are produced in bomatic workshop, are exactly designed for the shredded material. The first machine contain cutters with small height of cutter knives, the second machine thin granulation cutters. The possibility of manufacturing the cutters in bomatic workshop allows us to design and produce cutters, which are exactly defined for the material – a big advantage for our customer.
