What is a four-shaft shredder?

A four-shaft shredder is a machine equipped with a four-axle, cutter shaft system with offset cutters. When hard disks or other data carriers are placed in the opening of the shredder, the force of the rotating cutters draws them downwards and cuts them up.

A perforated screen is fitted under the cutters, which catches larger particles. They are transported again by the rotor blades and are subject to another shredding step. This process is repeated until the material is small enough to exit the cutter chamber through the perforated sieve.

The resulting end product can then be disposed of as usual, since the data on the hard drives can no longer be accessed.

What is the four-shaft shredder used for?

The data protection regulations according to DIN 66399 are of course strictly observed. The machine complies with security level H5.
